Otterpop’s Special Kentucky TSD Edition-Otterpop may quite like this living it up business.

So we’ve always been pretty spare travelers. Throw the dogs in the car and drive. Worked for me. But I think Otterpop actually LIKES this fancy air travel. She likes airports. Hardly a peep from her, and just slept thru take offs and landings and schlepping through the 3 airports we visited today. We borrowed our friend Tag’s super deluxe tote bag with wheels, and I just dragged her merrily along. Smashed it under the seat, and she took a nap for each flight.

I say, Excellent Job, Otterpop. She has a little blue rental car to drive around in. Well, right. I drive, she sits in the back seat. She keeps wanting to get in the trunk. Which sounds like an aluminum can when you slam it. It’s the budget car.

I took a drive around, even though it was dark and late when we got in. I found Whole Foods. They had tofu. And beer. And this place is how you remember how to not take the wrong turn to my motel. I suspect we will make a visit. Is this a special Kentucky establishment?

Our motel is fancy. It’s got a little kitchen and down comforter and totally non skeevy sheets and carpet. I brought my own sheet all the way from California because, well, because. Most motels we stay in totally gross me out. This one though, holy smokes. No bedbugs! And it has a huge grass field off the parking lot, which overlooks the valley of Colonel Sander’s Corporate Headquarters of Chicken. I’m not sure what part of town we’re in, but it works for me.

Tomorrow we should be going to practice with some friends at an arena nearby that they rented, then to the Expo center for one afternoon class-European Standard. That’s when we’ll see what Otterpop REALLY thinks of her dog vacation. The report from home is that Ruby is looking everywhere for her. I hope Otterpop thinks only of fast, happy running!
